I Miss You Mom

I woke up again, wiping sweat off my face.
That nightmare again, I was back in that place.
No things weren't great, but they weren't all that bad.
Mom I still love you, you're all that I had.

And I could tell, that your love was real.
I hated to see you, go through that ordeal.
No I'm not mad, like some people would think.
I just miss you mom, this separation just stinks.

I miss you holding me, and saying I love you.
I miss your touch, telling you I love you too.
I've gotten older, I'm no longer a kid.
And everyone has regrets, of bad things that they did.

I'll soon be a man, at least by my age.
So soon I'll be released, let out of my cage.
I'd like to find you, just to say hello.
To ask you a question, why that fellow?

But for now I just wonder, how you have been.
I miss your laugh, and I miss your grin.
Each day of my life, removes another day.
Untill we meet, but what can I say?

Critique:Sgt. B, Another good write.. I enjoy reading your poems.. I guess maybe your tired of me telling you that, but it's the truth ! At first it made me think about my mother, but she has passed away.. Then I realized that your mom left, unless I read it wrong? Sorry for your pain.. I can understand how you feel.  It doesn't matter how old you are to get a hug from your mom... It's a wonderful feeling... I hug my grown childrena nd two grandson's all the time.. Thank you for this poem !
