To The Bullies
To All You Bullies Out There! What a difference it would have made When I went to school today If instead of teasing and taunting me The cool kids just said “G’day”.
What a difference it would have made When I was trying to concentrate in woodwork, If the kid that always steels my bag Just stopped playing the clown and being a jerk
What a difference it would have made When in English I was asked to read out loud, If the bully just stopped and listened Instead of heckling at me as if he was proud.
What a difference it would have made When I was trying to listen in class, If the kid that pushes me everyday Just shut up and stopped being an arse.
I wonder what I may have learned If going to school wasn’t so scary, The names I’m called, the kids that tease Your fat, your gay, you’re a ferry.
I wonder what it might be like If going to school was fun, And I wonder what the walk home would be like If I didn’t have to run.
So maybe I’m a little different And if you don’t mind just the same, I’d like to actually learn at school Instead of playing these silly games.
Just because my clothes aren’t as new as yours That doesn’t mean I’m bad, And just because you pushed me over today That shouldn’t make you glad.
If you need to pick on others To make your friends like you and think that your tuff, Just wait until you hit the real world boy Where being tuff just aint enough.
So let me learn And please let me play, And when you see me in the corridor Have something positive to say.
Or just shut your mouth Don’t taunt me with your words, “Big fight after school” Haven’t you heard?
Because I’m not a fighter And nor do I want to be, I am full of love and happiness When I’m allowed to just be me!
