THE PROMISE OF JOY

With each new day and new discovery we make of each other

I can only smile in amazement or nod my head in wonder.

Because with each revelation, each shared hurt

Each unasked question that's answered,

Brings the realization that every little thing

I thought to ask for in prayer, every detail

I remembered to include and even some

I didn't think God would grant; has been found in you.

And we are just at the start of this beautiful journey,

The future for us can only be incredible.

I pray that this is really to be each night

I live each day knowing that we will have that future.

So my heart is joyful and the excitement grows.

My love for you increases with each new bit of ourselves we share.

I am just beginning to realize how much you love me.

Sweetheart, there is a change coming about in me and

I don't know the words to describe what is happening.

I can only tell you that you makes my heart sing,

And there is a feeling of expansion around my heart.

When I think of you, I want to be better than I am,

I want to try harder, be stronger, be even smarter.

I know you are one of Gods favored men,

And I know I've been granted a particular

And special portion of Grace to have met you.

He's allowed me to get close to your tender heart

And in loving you, I feel His gentle guidance.

I'm certain that our joy is His, too.

You love are my promised joy, my perfect lover

You love are my heart of hearts, my one and only love

My dream come true.

Critique:	I truly enjoyed reading this poem. In the beginning, I thought it was a testimonial type of poem, focused more on the love for God. As I read on, it became clear that the author was writing about finding true love, and that they thanked God for bringing the person into their life. I would like to read more of your work. I need to spend more time reading members work, sometimes, the business of writing can take away from the writing. I"m glad I found your poem tonight. Good work! Welcome to One Stop Write Shop.
