Like a River Flow
A tree stands straight and tall
Through winter, spring, summer and fall. It cannot feel Wind nor sun No emotions, no fun. A tree goes through life without feeling good Because good cannot be understood. If you cannot feel the good then you cannot feel the bad And the bad is what sticks with you, Through and through. A tree follows life like a river flow It just grows and grows. So who's better off? The tree who cannot feel good or bad, Or people, condemned to being sad? Life isn't always misery and pain, The good is what keeps us sane But the good is what we seldom remember. There's so much pressure to do the right thing, to not be fake How are you supposed to stop yourself making mistakes? Should you be moral and sensible, Or should you follow your feelings like a fool? Is love the way? I don't want it, I don't need it But I don't know how to stop it! I can see it happening. I can see it trapping Me, in a place I don't want to go again. I can see, I can see If we continue, that's where I'll be It can never be The way I want it to be. And yet, how can I not go on? I don't know the answer, I don't know what to do! Do you? People seem condemned to feeling sad, Whereas the trees feel neither good nor bad. So who's better off? The Tree that grows and grows And follows life like a river flow
