To my Maia

The life, innocence and joy that only a child can bring.

Such a gift should never be stolen, only a devil would take that away.

I watch her play and hear her laughs. She is so comtent just being a child.

She jumps around and swings high up yelling for me to look at her.

A giant smile just for me lights up my heart and my day.

I love my girl more than life itself and I rue the day someone tries to take it again.

For her I will move mountains and soothe any tears, kiss a bump and hold all night.

Just for her I selflessly give all that I will be and all that I am. Maia I love you so.

Hold your joy and greatness near to your heart and I will pray that all is good.

Critique:Totally loved your poem, the strenght in a womens heart for her child is insumountable, the power is awesome. I am sure it has changed history too many times. How can a man not listen to the cries of a mother unless their soul is heartless. History also tells us there are heartless men who kill for the moment based on what they are told to do. My question is how can they justify their actions and who is listening, their God, made me think for sure. The love for a child is God's gife to us and you presented your feelings through poetry superbly.
