TIPS

  • Focus on meaning & imagery.

  • Words can always be edited, (inspiration happens spontaneously!).

  • Find a place outside to sit and write.

  • Closing your eyes, sit back in a chair and listen for at least five minutes. What did you hear? Often times, words paint pictures that are heard, and not seen.

  • Create an image, or meaning in only one line. (Varies).

  • Read a variety of haiku style poems.

Critique:Hi Katina, I was just checking out your portfolio & came across this one. Cool way of teaching haiku & your finished example is just lovely. As well as being a twist or a riddle, the last line can be a moment of clarity, condensing the first two lines. Nice post ~ Sharon :)

Grade:Excellent
