Animal Kingdom - The Remix

 

A loud shrill shocked all the animals who assembled there to witness one of the historical moments. The sight they saw was a murder - a cold-blooded gunshot by the invader. The Lion King ordered with all might "Bring him dead or alive...."

 

Few hours earlier.......

 

Dominos was busy with their daily business. Opening a branch near the forest area was a challenge but they met their expectation quite well. It was one such day where sales were moving above the targets. Within blink of an eye, a crow flew from nowhere and plucked a pizza from one of the Deliver boy's hands and took its flight. "Shit, you dirty crow" shouted the young guy.

 

The crow with a proud smile on its black face enjoyed the smell of cheese toppings. No delivery bikes, no packing, but without a 'paneer' piece dropping on the ground, the crow perched on top of a branch in the lonely tree near the river bank.

The animal crowd was cheering its heroes: One side, waving the flags of Hare & on the other side, tortoise fans. The race was on. This was the most crucial race to decide who was better. Hare was having carrot juice & turnip pulp, while tortoise was gearing up and doing exercises.

 

Within few minutes, the historical race was on, with the elephant blowing its trumpet.

Tortoise started off in a jiffy, but hare was moving cautiously. The ducklings were on their feet performing the cheerleaders part perfectly.

By the time crow was about to launch its attack on the pizza piece, it had an uninvited guest - fox. The fox's eyes were fixed upon the pizza and it wanted to taste it at any cost. It devised a plan - Flattering is the only way to deceive the crow. So it invited crow into a conversation. It asked the crow to sing in its beautiful voice. But crow understood the situation and before the fox could react, it decided to keep the pizza under its legs. Before it could do so, its eyes caught something else.... Something terrible....

The hare was leading the race by a big margin and before making the final lap; it wanted to rest for a while. So it took a convenient position under the tree. Yes, the hare was sleeping under the same tree where the crow was.  The innocent hare did not know that a hunter was aiming at it from behind the bushes.

Before he could aim, the crow crawed at the pitch of its voice, which alerted the sleeping hare. The pizza fell from its mouth and the fox jumped to catch it. The bullet was fired and it hit the fox's hind legs.

 

The Lion King ordered with all might "Bring him dead or alive...."

 

The hare immediately started its chase while the crow went to alert other animals. After letting the fox to a safe zone, the crow fled in the direction of the hare. It hit the hunter on his head and bit his hand to release the gun. The hare jumped on him and bit his legs. By this time, the other animals also rounded him.

The presentation ceremony was going on. The colourful bands, fireworks, etc lit up the atmosphere. The tortoise had reached the goal first. The cheerleaders of the tortoise group were making unimaginable moves and kept the crowd intact.

 

Lion King entered the podium to make his speech. "I hereby announce the winner of this race - The Tortoise, who despite his physical deformalities came up fighting and stood first". All the animals started clapping and whizzling for their hero. The flags of the hare team were lowered and its fans hung their heads.

 

When the ceremony was about to end and all animals were about to leave, the Lion King cleared its throat. "Excuse me, my dear animals. I have one more announcement to make. Though it was tortoise's positive attitude that won the race, its time to appreciate the hare who was brave and the crow for his selfless and fearless attitude. So I take this opportunity to revise the results of the race."

 

There was a stunning silence from the crowd. "The trophy will be shared by both the hare & Tortoise".

"A special memento to the Crow will be presented by our honorable chief guest, Mr.Peacock."

 

The hunter, who was tied to a tree, gave a wry smile. Young monkeys were playing with his face.
