A Riddle, of Sorts

I am that which you've saught after for as long as you can remember. Others have denied you your right to know me. Some have hurt you, left you behind, spat in your face.
Some have broken you down until you believe there is nothing left.
You believe you had me, once. I filled you with light and joy but also blindness to your surroundings and those around you.
You blame me for your pain and swear you'll never be near me again. You believe I've abandoned you, drained you of everything that makes you beautiful...but you're wrong. I'm still here waiting for you to reach out to me.
Do you know who I am?
Time is my companion, a dear friend of mine. And soon you stitch yourself back together. You believe you are fine, and you can live your life without me. Oh, silly girl, I'll show you.
You grow, you mature, and keep yourself locked away. And you are given a chance, once again, to find me. I dangle in front of you, perhaps not too obvious but very subtle, and I am a possibility you cannot turn down.
Trust is also a good buddy of mine, and you learn to befriend him again soon as well. But Fear, that cruel tyrant, is never too far behind. He grips you, fills you with paranoia, and derails you from your path to me again. Oh, but I don't give up on you just yet. No, not just yet.
You begin to smile again as you're captivated by...him? Yes, good, I'm glad. See, this is easier than you thought, isn't it? You become more comfortable, and Time begins working his magic once again. Patience is a sweetie, and she'll help you through this as well if you give her a chance.
Still confused as to who I am? Oh, dear, how easily you forgot me.
I flood your senses as he holds your hand, tilts your chin to gently kiss your lips. It may take you a while to realize it's me, and once you do, you're terrified again. But I am the warmth in his arms when he holds you so tightly, so very tightly. And I am that delicious ache inside you that yearns for his touch, just a little more. I'm there with you as you lay next to him, saying nothing and everything at the same time.
I am in your laugh, your impish giggle. I am in your smile, the secret grin you give only him. I am in the way you look at him; how you never want to part from him. I am even in your tears, the ones you shed because you know I'm there and you are scared. I am in your mind, your heart, your very being.
I am Love.
Remember me? Yes, I'm still here. I never left you, my dear, you just had to seek me out again. I will lead you to the one you need, but it is your choice ultimately whether you will take the path I present to you or not.
I can give so much bliss and joy, and so much pain. People have died in my name. But people have been reborn in my name as well.
I am sorry you've been hurt in the past. I never like to cause pain, please understand. But you must suffer before you can truly feel me and appreciate me. And I promise, you will not be alone forever. I promise you will not suffer endlessly. I will lead you to the one you are destined for. And if you believe in me, I will never abandon you.

Critique:A very clever write and well presented, where did you come up with the theme? You deal with love and that is a very complex subject. I like how you say, I am bliss and at the same time pain and fear and then ask the reader, Do you know who I am? Well constructed, good write. I read your work again and got the chills. I had to vote for you as a Spotlight writer. Dennis

Critique:You relay your emotions and thoughts so well in your writing. It's easy to read and just be caught in the imagery and feelings of the writing. You can tell it's very personal to you and that's what gives the piece it's energy. It's a great write, and I hope you continue to keep writing.
