[Relentless Writing 7 Tokens]

Proud Son

We watched the airplane fly way up high,

until it reached the light blue sky.

We hugged and kissed him before he left,

we waved good bye and said God Bless.

Iraq he's coming, be strong and have faith,

you have all our prayers we know you'll be safe.

Proud of you, yes we are

 whether your near or far,

We love you dear son, and can't hardly wait

until we see your smile in front of our face..

Love, mom and Dad.

Critique:Tell your son I said Thank you!  I feel your pain as our son has finally come home after his second tour.  Great emotion given here to the reader. I am sure all parents relate. Good job.

Critique:Your poem comes from the heart, many mother's sons are out there defending our Country. That tearful goodby, the long wait, with God delivering him at your doorstep to live life and move on. Good write, Dennis

Critique:I can definitely relate to this one. In fact, I just wrote a poem not long ago that's similar to this one. My sister just went off to Iraq and has been there for about 2 weeks now. This is a very nice poem and I hope you will see your son very soon.
