Sky's Jewels

Lightning flashes a smile at Sky
but seconds later bids goodbye
Thunder booms out his laughter
but is silenced seconds later

Sea and her waves dance wildly
Wind cries out in revelry
Sky joins not in the joy of her peers
but neither is she seen in tears

Sky just hides behind the clouds
and waits patiently until her jewels are found
She sent armies of rain down the earth
They land everywhere, searching for all they're worth

The search will continue and will not to be halted
Sky did not mind if the lands become flooded
Sea became calm and finally lost her high
Wind became quiet and would occasionally sigh

Sea then began to sparkle for she was the thief
With Wind as accomplice, they had done the mischief
They had sent out a mist and stole the jewels of Sky
They did it for fun, and there is no other reason why

A number of nights had passed and Sky was still gloomy
And for this, Sea tosses and turns, feeling so guilty
Everyone can hear Wind howl in grief-stricken shame
For everyone's flooded angst, these two were to blame

They then decided to return the jewels to its owner
And so Sky once again sparkles with glitter
Sea becomes calm and reflects Sky's brightness
Wind ripples through and blows Sky a gentle kiss

Critique:A very pleasing write where the forces of mather nature intermingle and react to each others powers. I can see reading your poetry to a child and taking their mind for a ride. A happy ending too, Mr. Sky is appeased so the ocean and wind can be at peace too. Good write. Dennis
